I found this beautiful poem on one of my blogger friend's posting. My blogger friend has 3 girls and a boy who has down syndrome so I like to regularly go on her blog since our situation is similar. Her son William is 4 years old so I like to see what he is up to. He just seems to be the sweetest and kindest child..and calm. I may need to borrow him to calm wild man Tyson down. Tyson has approached the terrible 2's
(Lisa K - I know you will like this poem, especially all you went through to have little Gavin in this world)
As I Watch You Sleeping By:
Sheryl Trowbridge
As I watch you sleeping,
my problems seem so small.
The rewards you have to offer me,
are so big and so tall.
As I watch you sleeping,
I realize just how great your accomplishments are.
I know how much you struggle
to have made it this far.
As I watch you sleeping,
I can't imagine how my life would be without you.
Even through the hard times
I'd be lost without you.
As I watch you sleeping,
I see just how much you have brought into my life.
All the joys and happiness,
all the wonder and excitement.
As I watch you sleeping,
I am overcome with such love.
Your sweetness and happiness,
are something I can't get enough of.
As I watch you sleeping,
I think just how lucky I am.
To be the mother of such
a beautiful little boy.
As I watch you sleeping,
all of my worries seem to melt away.
I know that no matter what happens,
together we can make it through another day

Blogger Award
My friend Beth over at Dirty Laundry nominated me for the blogger award! So now I have to tell 7 things about myself that people may not know.. here goes
1. I do not know how to cook..at all. I hear lots of people say that they can't cook but are actually descent but I can honestly say I can't and I have no desire to learn..how bad is that! No worries, my kids aren't starving or anything like that-Daddy's a good cook. And my wonderful friend doubles up on dinners that we both pick and she does the cooking! I would just be in the way if I tried.
2. I am afraid of needles. I cringe when my kids have to get them. Weird huh that I can deliver four children but one little quick shot freaks me out.
3. I am a reality show junkie. The more horrible the better!
4. My best friend since kindergarten found us the house that we live in and we are now a couple blocks from each other. So cool!
5. I would love to write a book about the past two years of my family's life. It would be good therapy.
6. I have a fear of flying now that I have children. I realize an accident can happen anywhere but I just can't go far away from my children now, even if I've had enough of them and they are driving me crazy!!!
7. I never ever would've thought I would have 4 children. I come from a family of 2(meaning my sister and I) and my husband is an only child. But I absolutlely LOVE having a big family- they are my world and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I am going to nominate Julie from Our Life....Special With Needs. I absolutley love the name of her blog, her posts crack me up and she's got a little cutie the same age as my son.
SO I will let her know of her award, she can write 7 things about herself and then nominate up to 15 bloggers if she would like.

Chocolate?.......Unfortunately Not!
WARNING..if you have a weak stomach DO NOT scroll down any further
This is how I found my son this morning..guess what? He knows how to take off his diaper! Of course he is smiling about it. So he wanted to wrap his legs around me like a monkey as I am trying to lift him out of the crib, meanwhile I'm trying to hold him as far away from me as I can.
Can you believe this kid????
This was his second bath in a row and his hair stills smells!!
My husband asked me what is wrong with him? I replied,"he is a boy"
Skip said he is worse than all three of our girls combined. He told me he is always getting into something everyday...my response"no shit!" ..literally.

Forever Grateful
Today I ran into my nurse friend who saved Tyson's life a year ago. I happened to have Tyson with me so she got to see how well he looks. For those of you who didn't know, when he was in the hospital last year and in very bad shape, my nurse friend stepped in and did what she felt was right and went against the doctor's orders which ended up saving his life. I always think to myself what if she wasn't working that night? That is why I am forever grateful to her -
We are forever grateful
We are forever grateful

No School=Fun With Friends
Today the kids were off of school so we went on a hayride and picked pumpkins with 16 kids altogether...and 6 moms. That's a lot of kids. I left Tyson home because the last hayride he went on he did not want to sit still...and honestly I did not feel like chasing him all day....he had just as much fun with Grandpa at the playground today...Thanks Dad for watching him!
These kids have the life.....fun activities, friends, and AWESOME moms that do so much for them

I Am The Best Wife
I'm not bragging- I just want to make sure my husband reads this...isn't it funny how nice husbands are when they want something? My husband got a last minute(and I mean last) invitation to go fishing for the entire weekend.. a 36 hour fishing trip...he wants to take me sometime....uhh thanks but no thanks...I would rather be locked in a small room with all 4 of my kids...I think. So he sprung this on me last night hours before he was to be leaving.
You see ladies, you have to use this to your advantage. When he does this to me, right away I think of something I really want to do that he will have to stay home and take care of all the kids....but honestly I rarely say no to him if he has an opportunity to do something fun(or that he thinks is fun) He works all the time and never gets to do much. It just cracks me up how nice he was to me the rest of the night!
Plus I really didn't mind b/c my sister is coming to visit for the weekend and we are always busy going places with the kids...so I won't be alone, rocking back and forth going insane. And it is now 6:45am and my daughter is awake already....let the day begin!! Sleep in for God's sake Alina, what is wrong with you?

Rainy Day But Good News
This morning Tyson and I drove 45 minutes away to see his dctr for a follow up GI appt. It was cold and rainy so Tyson decided to sleep on the way down....
While we were waiting for the dctr to come in I could just see Tyson's wheels spinning in his head....."what can I get into?"
"Anything up here?"
Trying so hard to escape
Ahhh the crinkly loud paper
But he can do no wrong in my eyes!
We had a great visit. He is off the down syndrome chart for his weight(which I pretty well figured) and also for height- I was excited about that(his height) DS children tend to be on the smaller side. He hasn't had any GI issues since last year so we do not need to go back...one less dctr to see. So we got back into the car, had a drink, and off to sleep he went...again. Rainy days will do that to you.
We picked up this slide my friend is letting me borrow... He loves to climb so this should keep him busy
Good day...even if it is rainy and COLD!!!
